3 days and 2 nights of Stonking Trance

This Waitangi Weekend sees the return of Alien Nation, three days and two nights of stonking trance at the Wairoa Gorge, a stunning location not far from Nelson from Friday 2nd February to Sunday 4th if not beyond.

Celebrating the eternal beat, Alien Nation is an unaffected, organic festival that invites you to get down with Mother Earth, next to the beautiful Wairoa River. Organiser Warwick Carrington put on the initial event six years ago as "party I'd like to go to. I can't believe six years later it's still going strong," he says. "It's not just a disco in the forest, it's an initiation, a gathering of the tribe".

Having evolved over the years, the 2007 event promises to be a big one, bringing harder, darker, progressive Psychedelic Trance, from an impressive line up of DJs and the highest caliber VJing.

Alien Nation will mark one of the first public performances by the new combination for Illusion, a unique style of deep progressive music for the dance-floor & beyond. DJ Wizdumb's style of progressive and minimal psy is strait to the point - deep, phat and crunchy, but always big moody interesting beats that force the body to move! Christchurch DJs/Producers Delicious will be playing some high energy sets mixing uplifting with dark and dirty full on psy trance. Live electronic project C.O.S.M, Certified Organic Sound Machine, will provide some electrotech dub, while top female trance DJ Maia will be dishing out some Tribal Psytrance and Spoonhead offers to bring you into a state of deep meditation through dance.

Additional acts include Grouch, Cobba; lil Miss Molly; Psysquatch; Beniot; Sir Trancealot; ZBD; Brazilian; Filthy Tommo; Mojo; Risto; Fungus; Dawn Beaver and Intergroove.

Presales are $50 with limited gate sales of $60. A torch is recommended along with supplied for two days in the wilderness: Food and water, warm clothes, cool clothes, bedding, sun hat, sun screen.
