  • Music: Drum and Bass

As we reach the height of another New Zealand summer, the Bass Frontiers crew returns to Studionine for the first time in 2002, bringing the vibes for a very special series of drum and bass events. We are proud to present, SUMMER DRUMZ.

BF SUMMER DRUMZ 01: THE MOVEMENT TOUR
Featuring DJ MARKY (Brazil) and BRYAN GEE (UK) - V Recordings

Presenting the Brazilian wonder kid, DJ MARKY. MARKY is undoubtedly one of the most exciting DJ's to emerge in the drum and bass world in recent years. With his phenomenal technical skills, Brazilian flair, enthusiasm, passion and dedication it is clear the future is very healthy for DJ MARKY.

MARKY exudes loads of natural talent and confidence. In 2001 he was voted International DJ of the year at the prestigious KNOWLEDGE awards, nominated as newcomer of the year in the Ericcson Dance Awards and ranked in MINISTRY Magazines Top 10 DJ's list. Now in 2002 the waiting is over, Drum and Bass' hottest property finally makes it down under.

MARKY leads the dance and club scene in Brazil. He is resident at THE BUNKER in Rio de Janeiro and at the LOV.E club in Sao Paulo. It was here he was discovered by BRYAN G. BRYAN fulfilled MARKY'S lifelong ambition of playing in London by making him MOVEMENTS international resident. BRYAN G was also responsible for bringing the Brazilian drum and bass sound to the UK via his V RECORDINGS imprint in the shape of THE BRAZIL EP. MARKY'S profile was further raised by the release of THE BRAZILIAN JOB Mix CD late in 2001 on MOVEMENT.

Appearing alongside DJ MARKY, will be one of BF's favorite UK DJ's, we are very proud to welcome back BRYAN G. BRYAN last played at STUDIONINE in December 2000, giving the Welly crowd there first taste of the Brazilian style that well and truly blew up in 2001.

From his early days in the late 80's Acid House scene, it was from there he hooked up with JUMPING JACK FROST and formed V RECORDINGS. It was this label that gave the likes of RONI SIZE and KRUST their first big break before going on to release tunes from DILLINJA, LEMON D, RAY KEITH plus many more.

With constant touring, the packed weekly MOVEMENT sessions, the monthly MOVEMENT parties, and critically acclaimed tunes constantly being released on V and subsidiary label CHRONIC. There is no doubt of the commitment and importance of BRYAN G to drum and bass. "V FOREVER BABY".
