For 2 years running now, Ed Rush & Optical have twisted our cerebellum in rapturous delight with their unique brand of tech-funk. DJ sets that always contain not only the freshest dub plates available to man, but that are also punctuated cleverly with tunes they have helped make Drum and Bass classics.
Anyone who has attended any of these previous events will have tales of moments they will never forget at the hands of these boys, and with this being Mr Rush's fifth visit to New Zealand, it's easy to see the Virus crew now commands a very high level of reverence amongst our constantly changing scene.
So, in our constant effort to ensure New Zealand gets the ultimate DnB experience we are honoured to be able to add MC Ryme Tyme to the Virus line-up this year. Resident Virus MC and an accomplished producer / engineer in his own right with hugely popular releases on Virus, DSCI4, Moving Shadow, No U Turn, Saigon, and his own 1210 Recordings, Ryme Tyme has become an integral part of the Virus crew throughout the years. Most recently, his vocals have appeared in rap / DnB amalgamations on the latest Virus album 'The Creeps', an exciting experiment that is sure to once again open doors of inspiration for everyone involved in Drum and Bass. From his years of experience working alongside Ed Rush & Optical, his skillful embellishment of their DJ sets will be one you will never forget. As we enter what promises to be the most exciting year yet for New Zealand Drum and Bass enthusiasts, we hope you can join us to witness the Virus crew smash 2001 wide open.
