The First Annual Northwest Electronic Music Festival
Decibel is a four-day, multiple venue festival happening in Seattle, Cascadia in September 2004. It will expose the Northwest to both the international and regional electronic music scene. It is our hope with Decibel to educate as well as entertain through workshops, seminars, open discussion, comfortable venues, excellent sound, exciting performances, interesting visuals and a diverse selection of quality electronic music.
The festival will focus on no predominant electronic music genre, but instead focus on the similarities that unite all electronic music (synthesis, technology, dance, urban post-industrial culture, digital art). This is the central theme of the Decibel Festival.
Considering the amount of talented producers, label owners, DJs and performers gaining popularity through out the Northwest we would like to give them the opportunity to get some well deserved local recognition along side international/national electronic music artists. This will be the "regional" theme we hope to convey through Decibel.
Decibel will also play host to the America National Laptop Battle Championship, and be joined in the festivities by the first annual Northwest Electronic Music Film Festival.
