Bass Frontiers presents
THE PHOENIX RISING LP TOUR
DIGITAL (FUNCTION – UK)
Saturday 12 January 2008 – Sandwiches
Bass Frontiers launches into 2008 with a session of ruff, rugged and raw Drum & Bass pressure as we welcome back one of our favorites and true dons of the sound.
Digital has been at the top of the DnB elite for nearly 12 years with a record of accomplishments that speak for themselves. He has a long history of classic releases and remixes on labels such as Metalheadz, Photek, Creative Source, 31 and alongside Spirit on the now defunct Phantom Audio. In 2002 Digital unleashed ‘Dubzilla’ his long anticipated debut artist album on his own imprint Function.
The past 2 years have seen Digital releases slow to a trickle with the man on a bit of a hiatus from Drum & Bass. But the year is now 2007 and he has returned with his sophomore album ‘Phoenix Rising’. True Digital fans will be glad to know that he has not strayed from his own unique style of dub influenced, heavy basslines and hard hitting breaks and his new collaborations with French Drum & Bass icon Lutin has only served to take the production to new levels of tightness. None of us would have been so bold to have written off a producer who has been so prolific over the years but, as the title suggests, the Phoenix is truly rising from the flames with a vengeance.
But it doesn’t end with the new LP, Digital has new dubstep label ‘Mission Impossible’ locked and loaded and ready for launch very soon as an outlet for some of his non dnb output. There is also a full schedule of fresh artists ready to be unleashed on the Function label. It is clear one of drum and bass’ most influential figures is back in full force and ready to help guide this sound into the future.
Digital presents ‘Phoenix Rising’ CD and LP available now.
