Smashing funk, jazz & love @ the Matterhorn

The Eggs and Recloose are among the temptations being served at the Matterhorn as part of the "Month of Fruit' a potent bake of cultural nourishment at the Cuba chalet.

Recloose, the former Detroit DJ and producer, is concocting a fruity night of jazz, funk and love with the Eggs in place of his regular Friday DJ set at the Matterhorn. The Eggs feature cats from Twinset, TrinityRoots and the Fat Freddy's Drop booty shaking horn section.

He jokes that "there'll be some intense groove rivalry going on , there's some bad blood between me and the Eggs!"

Recloose is currently wrapping up his second album, Hiatus on the Horizon, an album of modern electronic excellence featuring 'lots of Kiwis'. The album is being released by the UK based Peacefrog label who are the European distributors of the likes of Moody Man and Theo Parrish.

Encompassing live instrumentation, soul-fuelled vocals, and featuring many of Wellington's established and rising musicians, Recloose manages to maintain his Detroit roots, exposing a new thread to the ever evolving story...
