The waiting is now over ... the Grind kru enter the SUBNINE chamber for the first time since THE NEW FRONTIER on New Years Eve. We are very proud to present the return of the one and only, the great GROOVERIDER. No other drum and bass DJ is observed in quite the same light as GROOVERIDER. He is the pinnacle of the art, the Don, the Godfather. You will be lucky to be part of any other Drum and Bass night this year that will even touch on the experience of witnessing The Rider in session.

GROOVERIDER'S movements within British underground dance culture are legendary. Progressing from punk, to electro, funk to the explosion of acid house in 1998 onto hardcore, jungle and now drum and bass, GROOVERIDER has had an influence on them all. Alongside his longtime Djing partner FABIO, GROOVERIDER started pushing and pioneering the acid house movement. Appearing on the bill of every large-scale rave it was on to the seminal club Heaven where in 1990 the night Rage was born. It was here that the Rider personally over saw dance music's evolution from acid house to drum and bass.

In 1993 the establishment of his Prototype label first embedded the Rider's own futuristic grooves to vinyl, and the major's chase to sign him began. Three years later he signed to Sony's Higher Ground imprint, releasing the "Prototype Years" Compilation, and then his own debut album "Mysteries of Funk".

So what can you expect on the night from the Rider? Well, forget the semantics, GROOVERIDER blends them all, selecting only the first rate rinse-out material for his next level sets. An all encompassing attitude that's served him well on his journey from unknown pirate spinner to one of the biggest and most respected names in dance music today.

The Rider will be accompanied by MC MOOSE who has graced our shores once before with BRYAN G on his first visit here back in '98. There is no other MC with as much natural energy as MOOSE and fresh from winning an 'Outstanding Contribution to Drum and Bass' award at the recent Knowledge Awards, we know this man's gonna set the Rider nights on fire.
