Coherhent's 10K sound system will be pounding out Electro-infused breakbeat carnage on the 14th October as Hook'n'Sling comes to NZ for the first time, fresh from production with the likes of Kid Kenobi, Sarah McLeod, and Studio B.

With support from some of the heavyweights in their scene and talent the night should progress from techy and electro house to filthy banging breaks, this is going to be a night of gargantuan proportions!

HooknSling is Sydney born and raised Anthony Maniscalco. Anthony began as a DJ on the Sydney circuit in 2000 and has since played his unique style of electro/tech across Australia and Europe. Drawing on early influences such as Lee Coombs, The Crystal Method and Cassius, Anthony's sets have always been filled with an energetic electro-rhythmic vibe. In 2002, production seemed to be a natural progression for Anthony. Already producing bootlegs and mash-ups for his sets, writing original material was only a matter of time.

October 2004 saw the release of HooknSling's debut release. The Number Cruncher EP. In its first week of release, it came in at Number 6 in DJ Magazine's Breaks and Beats Chart. Seen as a new energy on the scene, big support for the EP came from the Plump DJ's, Danny McMillan, DJ Hyper, General MIDI and Friendly.

After this debut release, Anthony completed remix projects for Hussle n Bussle / Ministry of Sound Australia (Nasty Tales / Come on a my House - Hussle n Bussle - May 2005 and Sick Strings by The Jack Addicts, Mills & Joy - Hussle Recordings - July 2005).

After touring through London and Europe off the back of his early releases, Anthony has since been concentrating on new HooknSling material. As a DJ, Anthony holds residencies and is a regular at KINK, After Ours, Sounds on Sunday and The Chinese Laundry. In addition to this, he also does numerous local and interstate guest spots.

HooknSling's follow up release on HusslenBussle Records was the chart topping Vegas Heat / Silver Service, released March 06 with support coming again from The Plumps, James Zabiela, Annie Nightingale (Radio 1), Tayo, Friendly and Force Mass Motion.
