A night of Aotearoa Roots Music

House of Shem comprises of New Zealand Reggae Ambassador Carl Perkins (ex Herbs) who formed the band in 1998 with two of his sons Joshua & Te Omeka. 2005 welcomed the lightened addition of younger sons Isaiah & Samuel.

Recent additions to the House of Shem lineup include session musicians Kelly Kahukiwa on Sax accompanied by a 2 piece Horn Section & Lead Guitarist Peiahna Tahapehi & Roy Venkataraman.

Together the band grooves with the One Drop, Rock Steady, Lovers Roc & South Pacific reggae pulse. Their unique bubbling reggae pulse and conscious roots harmonies defines a sweet positive reggae music & message from Aotearoa - Tihei Mauri Ora
