Two parties showcasing the superb talents of the Wellington and Christchurch scenes, as heard in the upcoming breakbeat album 'is this code' (empathy recordings). 'Is this code - the release' presents a new breed of local breakbeat talent. Every dj featured on the two-stop party tour is a proven producer and dj: these boys are all heavy weight contenders, set on taking the local dnb sound that crucial step further.

Empathy will be offering a limited number of copies of 'is this code' on the door of both parties for $25 including the cover charge. Wellington, since the early ninties, has hosted every dj worth touring, inspiring local fans ears to take to the decks and production suites to redefine and claim as their own, the formidable and sublime sound brought from abroad.

Christchurch has spawned far beyond its fair share of producers and djs; dedicated proponents bred in the garden city have taken encouragement from the supportive local crowds and used this experience to take on the world.

Bassdrop has consistently provided Wellingtons thirsty drumnbass fans with the atmosphere and vibe that defines the world renowned local scene. With the help of Bassdrop.co.nz, Wellington saw three very successful 'Digital Breaks' parties emerge in 2004/5. The Digital Breaks crew only feature top local DJs consistently mixing solid tunes, and the crowds respect and wicked enthusiasm is second to none.
