Jafa Mafia meets Yardwise - Running It Red Hot!

Come to Tupelo, Saturday 5 May for one big night and two big sounds when JAFA MAFIA (AKLD) meets YARDWISE (WGTN). Jafa Mafia - CAPTAIN MIDNITE and TOBI - have been blazing up the dance N.Z. wide with their crucial selections and heavy dubplate pressure. Linking with one of Wellington's premier crews - Yardwise - ART OFFICIAL, SPIN ZERO, MISTEEK and TOPKNOT - longtime bringers of the best in new and old school Reggae and Dancehall - this session will be a fullscale dancefloor mash-up!

JAFA MAFIA established in 2003 after coming together through their 95bFM radio show Thunder & Joy. Selector Midnite hails from Hungary and developed his love of Jamaican music whilst living in Rome checking the One Love Hi Pawa weekly session. Tobi is NZ born and London raised, originates from the London free party/rave and nightclub scene and having played most contemporary genres of dance music now focuses on Dancehall, Dubstep/Grime and Jungle. The Mafia have been making waves both in New Zealand and outernationally, playing alongside big sounds worldwide including Kyabamba Sound (Swiss) and Worries Outernational (Ireland) and in 2007 took out the first Trans-Tasman Clash Series against Firehouse (Sydney). Coming at you with the baddest tunes and serious lyrical styling these Top-Shottas murder the dance each and everytime!

The YARDWISE family formed in 2003 on a musical mission to spread further their selection of conscious uplifting tunes and vibes. Having established and run the foremost Reggae Dancehall nights in the Capital - the infamous Inna Yardwise Sessions - the crew have collaborated with some of country's best artists including Ruffneck Souljah, Vital Sounds, Sounds Almighty (WGTN), The Jugglin Crew, Champion Sounds (AKLD), Dubwize (CHCH), and have represented at events such as Kaikoura Roots, The Cuba Street Carnival and most recently Soundsplash '07. This heavyweight crew brings only the ruffest and tuffest in classic and contemporary Roots Reggae, Dancehall and Bashment direct to the people!

And blessing the mic once more will be the legendary MC MIGHTY ASTERIX - the don dada of N.Z. Reggae vocalists - and Wellington favourite, MC KRTHNAK (Big Bada Boom).
