The Chilean vocalist brings his conscious flows and positive vibes to Wellington
Auckland based, Chilean born, Reggae Dancehall artist Jah Red Lion reaches the Capital, Saturday 26 January at Fast Eddies.
Based in Auckland city and influenced by Jamaican recording artists, Nico 'Jah Red Lion' Reyne is a reggae singer with a conscious message, combining high melodies full of soul with huge stage presence.
He was born in the small town of Lampa just out of Santiago, Chile. At the age of seventeen he started to frequent local reggae parties where he started to learn about the philosophy, lifestyle and music of Rasta.
In 2009 he recorded his Debut EP, Remember at Luckyday Studios, featuring three tunes in Spanish using current Jamaican riddims.
At the beginning of 2010 he traveled to New Zealand to showcase his music and develop his English. Since his arrival he has been busy touring the country and recording tunes and dubplates with local producers, DJs and sound systems, including Iron Will aka Willi The Kid, Reality Chant (Messenjah), Art Official, Jafa Mafia, DJ Lock Steady and more. In 2012 he released his second EP, with Riddim Central and Reality Chant.
