A concert to celebrate the good things in life shared with family and friends!
Labour of Love concert will be THE party in Gisborne for Labour Weekend!
Hot acts Evermore, Carly Binding and Blackbird will be performing. It's an all ages concert (ID required for alcohol) for the whole family to enjoy! Gates open from 4pm and the event will finish at 10.30pm.
EVERMORE, consisting of the three Hume brothers, Jon, Peter and Dan. As an Australian-based rock band originating in New Zealand, Evermore have come a long way since the release of their debut album Dreams. With over 300 live shows, an MTV Award, a NZ Music Award, the APRA Silver Scroll, five ARIA nominations, and hung a platinum record plaque on the wall of their home studio. It's a far cry from their humble and rain-drenched beginnings in rural New Zealand, and it all culminates in their new album, Real Life.
CARLY BINDING, is the latest star to step up to the mark AND show her international ability to out perform now based in Los Angeles. Carly is a former member of True Bliss and she left the band in 2000 and decided to go solo. Her debut album “Passenger” peaked at number six on the NZ album charts and was also released in Australia, where she toured expansively. She then released a second album titled “So Radiate” which demands to be heard live!
BLACKBIRD is a local Gisborne, consisting of three core members: Hamish Pinkham, Jamie Buckley and Kyle Bell. An acoustic/folk band passionate about making good music for people to enjoy. There are also other members in the band, friends Neto Beto & Helen Corry who love to jam and make sweet music. Blackbird are Rhythm & Vines who in their spare time enjoy performing soul sounds.
In association with Oxjam, New Zealand to Make Poverty History and to help raise funds to make Gisborne a Host City for 2011 Rugby World Cup.
Venue: Riding for the Disabled (RDA) next to Gisborne Showground.
Labour of Love will be a sell out...so get tickets quickly as it's the same weekend as the Gissy Wine & Food Festival...GOOD TIMES!
