The legend of DMZ Dubstep comes UK direct

Loefah, is without a doubt a bastion of Dubstep. His contributions to the DMZ imprint could be considered key moments in the evolution of the genre whilst his extensive back catalogue of releases on Tempa, Tectonic, Soul Jazz, Deep Medi, and Texture only serve to enforce this belief.

Based in his beloved Norwood in South East London, Loefah runs the legendary Dubstep club night and label DMZ with Mala and Coki (Digital Mystikz). In 2004 he secured three tracks on Rephlex's second dubstep compilation, released classics such as Goatstare and Horror Show in 2005, and in 2006 made a legendary contribution to Mary Ann Hobbes' landmark Dubstep Wars BBC radio 1 Show.

'Bass' is the primary function in Loefah's productions and with tracks like 'Goat Stare' and 'Mud' this can be heard to full effect. Bass is used to drive the tracks forward unceasingly, whether it be stabs, drones or squelches, the bass is relentless. In the dance Loefah brings a unique and personal vibe every time he steps to the decks. His tunes take an exploration in to minimal and weighty sub bass territories with rolling percussion and deep spacial atmospheres , bringing you direct to the essence of the DMZ sound.

Witness a true original at the forefront of Dubstep Friday 15th August at Sandwiches in support, Wellington's Strictly138 crew bringing upfront original NZ dubs and exclusives.

"I think collectively as DMZ we've brought a bit of honesty back to club culture in London. I think the focus was a bit off and we said nah, it needs to be about a good sound, a good vibe, a good dance and nothing else. People shouldn't have to be worried about what they look like, how they're dancing, [or] what they're drinking." - Loefah DMZ
