M*A*S*S*I*V*E Winter Soulstice
Godley Head , Christchurch

Winter in Canterbury means snow on the mountains and a chill in the air, so it's time to head for the coast and celebrate the longest night on the edge of the Pacific!
Since 2001, Massive's Winter Soulstice at Godley Head has established itself as Canterbury's most distinctive and exciting winter dance event.
The proximity to Christchurch, the balmy coastal climate and wonderful view of plains, mountains and sea make this the perfect spot to dance away the darkness and greet the dawn.
Massive is a fun-not-profit collection of enthusiasts who have worked hard with other groups and artists for over 10 years now to run dance parties and other events in Canterbury, perfecting a sustainable formula of nice people and nice tunes in nice places. As well as a love of beats they share a belief that music just sounds better outdoors.
This year's Winter Soulstice will feature Kiwi producer Module (http://www.myspace.com/modulelikesbeats) playing live and jamming it out with local favourite Cosm (http://www.cosm.co.nz/), along with the much loved and always eclectic Massive-mix of dub, trance, house and anything that grooves. This year's line up includes acts from all over Aotearoa, as well as a local hero back from Melbourne especially for the gig. Supporting Massive's Winter Soulstice once again are bass-lovers Subtle Promotions, turning on a tent full of dubstep, jungle and drum n' bass.
The Department of Conservation is kind enough to allow this event at Godley Head, but ticket numbers are strictly limited.
Pre-sale tickets are just $30 from Hunters and Collectors on High St, Static Records on Poplar Lane, Underground Coffee, the CPSA and Formation at 844 Colombo St.
There will be food and drink by Gravity Cafe and Underground Coffee, but this is an alcohol-free event. Since it is winter and the area contains potential building and cliff hazards, we recommend you bring warm clothing, a torch and good friends.
If you haven't experienced the simple joys of dancing to irresistible rhythms surrounded by smiling faces under the Southern skies...its time to get on something woolly, grab your friends and whanau, and make the short drive out to the edge of civilization at Godley Head on Saturday 23rd of June.

From a military style tent imported for the precise purpose of hosting renegade parties, this year's Winter Soulstice Subtle Zone will be delivering an old skool Jamaican sound clash stylee, similar to the soundsystem parties of the original Reggae producers.
It is their hardcore DIY ethic that has inspired Subtle to reinvent a modern renegade equivalent for the new generation of the underground headz.
Warning: this is a Dubstep special.
