Energetic, tight funk and hip-hop best explains this 6-piece band from Nelson. With four years' experience under their belt and gigging regularly on the local scene and around the country, Master Pilot have created a vital, fresh style through live, groove-driven instruments and electronic injections of sound, scratch and samples. Add the positive, make-you-go-woah lyrics of The Kurnel MC (of Funk'n'slocuts fame) and MC Stylee and you have a recipe for a seriously slamming good time!

In late October 2005, Master Pilot Corporation (including Master Pilot, Funk'n'slocuts and Mr Boinkin) released the independent compilation CD Monster Tracks nationwide through Frisbee-Dog Records (Golden Bay). This 12-track CD showcases the band's depth and versatility through funk-rock orientated tracks like Boom, Boom and the commercially clever Lyrical Technicians. Several tracks have already received airplay on BFM in Auckland, Radio-active FM in Wellington and RDU in Christchurch, amongst others.

Gig highlights include playing on the South Island leg of the Hook Up Tour Part 1, at the many PHAT CLUB organised parties, the Kaikoura Roots Festival and, more recently, at the Jet Set Lounge and Zinc in Christchurch.

Likened to a hip-hop version of Rage Against the Machine, Master Pilot truly have an invigorating new sound that will get you jumping and command your respect.
