Micheal Mayer is one of Europe's underground superstars. With a decade-long global touring schedule for his Djing, his stunning remixes, his record label, sub labels, a record store, club nights, mix CDs and his amazing music, Mayer is at the top of the game!

To say Michael Mayer is so hot right now would be a massive understatement - Mayer is so hot full stop!

Micheal Mayer came to the attention of most switched on clubbers in New Zealand with his hugely successful Fabric 13 CD, which displays the components that make Mayer and Kompakt essential. He is a pivotal figure in the massive success of the new school sound coming out of Germany which is taking over the globe. Everyone from house DJs, progressive DJs, tech-house, techno and electro DJs are playing the 'German' sound, which combines the best of minimal techno, electro basslines, hypnotic house grooves and nu wave synths with an almost pop sensibility. This is the sound that Mayer has been championing for over a decade.

Micheal Mayer is also a key figure in the Red Bull Music Academy and is one of the only lecturers who has been asked to return year after year. As well as being the creative director behind Kompakt label and distribution (home to the majority of the world's leading electro and tech labels now), Mayer has helped shape and direct the rise of this music and his sound has had a big influence on the music policy of Fabric.
