Mike Grant is one of the leading figures in Detroit's growing house scene. When Grant's fresh Moods & Grooves label began raising more than a few eyebrows with its catalog of releases by many of Detroit's best house producers, few knew that he had been a key figure in the Motor City's early '80s electronic dance scene.
During the '80s, Grant's reputation as one of the city's top DJs led to eventual friendships and partnerships with many of that era's other top DJs, most notably future legends Eddie Fowlkes, Blake Baxter, Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May, and Juan Atkins.
Since his first studio outings on Juan Atkin's legendary label Metroplex in 1997, Mike has gone from strength to strength. Starting his own house label 'Moods & Grooves' shortly afterwards, he has a roster which reads like a who's who of Detriot & Chicago house music - Moodymann, Alton Miller, Theo Parrish, Brian Harden, Rick Wade & Boo Williams.
Mike has been pushing the sounds of Detroit with a passion that has given him respect worldwide as Detroit's premier house ambassador. During his first New Zealand visit in 2001 Mike gave us a taste of pure Detroit funk, laying down soulful, sexy grooves with seamless mixing for over 4 hours.
Bamboo promotions is proud to present Mike Grant on his 2002 Australasian tour where he will once again grace Auckland with his dancefloor magic.
