Bringing the beat to Christchurch, MOS hit the South for the first time!

Misfits Of Science came about when Colossal aka 2nd Persona and Optimus got together a couple of years back to make hip-hop tracks that are a "misfit to what everyone else in the industry is doin' right now". Influenced by Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch, Roots, Tribe Called Quest and some exotic seventies material (Steely Dan among others), they call themselves "word-play MCs", rather than free-stylers. Their common interest in comic books led to their alter-ego names being inspired by Colossus from X-Men and Optimus Prime from Transformers. Making their own beats, they are button pushers who create tracks with skilful musical wit, and intend to disseminate their production skills through the hip-hop scene within the near future. Misfits Of Science are readily noticeable in the grey crowd of hoodied rappers- they look and sound different to your average crew.

The group are joined on their debut remix of "Fools Love" by ragga/reggae artist :Tuff Enchant" who is of African descent.
