Red hot reggae dubstep
Mungo's Hi Fi have been one of the most progressive forces in international reggae and dubstep, unleashing a myriad of highly sought-after releases on their Scotch Bonnet & Scrub a Dub labels while playing countless sell-out gigs throughout the UK and Europe.
Drawing from a rich heritage of Jamaican soundsystem culture, Mungo's produce a bass-heavy sound with a distinctively quirky twist that has garnered them a cult following across the world and earned them high praise from the likes of BBC DJ Mary-Anne Hobbes, UK soundsystem legend Jah Shaka and the late great John Peel.
The lads from Glasgow have collaborated with some of the biggest names in both old-school and new-school reggae including Sugar Minott, Sister Nancy, Ranking Joe, Kenny Knots, Earl 16, Top Cat, Brother Culture and Warrior Queen.
Joining them is Earl Gateshead, who with a career spanning over 30 years, is an influential figure in the UK reggae scene, holding down longstanding residencies and touring Europe and Australasia with Big Youth, Dr Alimantado and Cutty Ranks among others and spreading the original message from Jamaica's golden era of reggae music.
He currently runs a monthly event in London called Rootikal alongside his co-resident and long-time friend David Rodigan and tours the globe playing records from the extensive Trojan catalogue, spreading the original message from Jamaica's golden era of reggae music.
Don't miss this red hot night of reggae roots and dubstep!
