About the CD and In Music series:

In Music is a 100% Kiwi owned & operated Auckland based distribution company. They have been bringing In Music to New Zealand and fine record stores since the beginning of 2002.

The In Music concept is to create a series of music CDs compiled and mixed by some of NZ's leading DJ's and music fans.

The CDs are designed to reflect the individuals musical passions and in the case of DJ compilations the records that are currently doing it for them.

The series is not designed to be genre specific, however In Music's strength is definitely in the House market and as such the series will be built around at least 3 house based CDs.

The first of these was the 'Soane' CD released earlier this year with great success.

It is envisaged that there will be up to three releases in the series per calendar year. The Second being DJ Philippa and a third planned for release in February will be by Roger Perry.

About Philippa:

Philippa started DJing about 6 years ago. Philippa began in Wellington then moved to Auckland in late '97 and soon after started working at BPM Records - arguably NZ's best and longest standing dance vinyl store.

She worked there for just over 3 years - at which time she decided to go to Audio Engineering school - the Tai Poutini Polytechnic course put together by MAINZ...so at the moment Philippa is a full-time DJ and audio student, meaning a fairly hectic schedule.

Milestones so far - has been voted in as Re:mix magazine's "Best Up and Coming DJ" in 1998, voted in as New Zealand's "Best Up and Coming DJ" in the 2000 b-Net Awards. Mixed a deep house CD for Re:mix magazine at the start of 2000, which has become perhaps Re:mix magazine's most in demand CD ever.

Attended the Red Bull Music Academy - was flown to Dublin for this 2 week course in 2000, and...in 2001 began hosting the Friday afternoon Drive on George FM!

In the meantime, aside from school, Philippa has a full DJing schedule around Auckland every weekend - she's still a long time resident DJ at Calibre - arguably the home of Auckland House DJ's, and is resident at Ink on K'Road - cool little bar/club that holds about 150 peeps max.

Philippa also plays many other clubs and parties around Auckland and New Zealand on a regular basis - including Wellington!!

Sound System:
StudioNine has recently been treated to a significantly upgraded sound system. Featuring state of the art digital sound processors, a huge stack of amps and JBL Quality throughout - you can expect crystal clear, 100% quality sound for the night :)
