New Zealands Finest Electronica Fusionists' 2004 Tour
After 3 years of living on opposite sides of the planet, the Pitch Black boys have been holed up in a variety of studios in the Coromandel, Piha, Wellington and central Auckland working on their next album of deep luscious dub. To be released on Kog in late September, Ape to Angel is shaping up to be another slab of cross-genre dub beats and mind-expanding sounds.
Since the release of Electronomicon in 2000 and its follow-up remix album, Pitch Black have been touring to the UK and all over Europe each northern summer with jaunts home to play festivals and shows in NZ and Australia. The new locations and experiences have been the spawning ground for many of the new songs and vibes for the new album.
Last year saw the limited release of the FLEX ep, which showcased a couple of the tracks from the new album. The rich luscious sound and evolving compositions showing off the new production skills and technological tricks Michael and Paddy have been developing.
Playing LIVE has always been one of the things that has set Pitch Black apart from most other electronic acts, and this year sees a two month tour planned to cover New Zealand, UK, Europe, USA and Australia. Starting in Wellington on the 15th October and traveling around NZ till the 23rd Oct the boys will be out with their full multi-media show of integrated sound and visuals. Then it's overseas again to take the live show to all the continental dub freaks.
