as always, forward ever, backward never, the roots foundation signature sound is so much more than reggae, it's is a multi-layered basscape of dub, dancehall, roots, jungle & 2-step, mixed and mashed via turntables, digital effects, space echo and mpc, all morphed together through a 12 channel mixing board... no other sound system in the country will take you on such a wild all-night journey through the deep dark secrets of dub, a journey across the outer limits of bass heavy music magic !

last years' nationwide tour in april was completely roadblocked from one end of nz to the other, and also got itself nominated the in b-net music awards alongside big day out & gathering as "best live event", plus there were nominations for two of the four roots djs in the "best dj" category at the same awards. yowza !!

this wellington-based dj team have been providing nights of superior bass culture for nine years now, and show no signs of slowing up on their own bass odyssey which began way back in '92 !

the roots foundation sound system are legendary wellington djs mu, lemon, koa & goosebump.

a night spent with your ears in the audio custody of these selectors can reveal the glorious links between the pan african space jazz of lee perry & king tubby, to the bubbling hot sound of now (three decades on), the sounds from electronic studio renegades like stanton warriors and jeff mills, and most of what lies inbetween.
