live en concert - for the first time ever in Australasia

On stage for over 2 hours - original hardcore reggae vibes!!!

Featuring on vocals Michael Rose (Black Uhuru) and full band - direct from Kingston Jamaica

From Black Uhuru to Grace Jones, from Peter Tosh to The Rolling Stones, from Chaka Demus & Pliers to Simply Red to Gwen Guthrie to The Revolutionaries, no rhythm section in history has impacted across the world's music scene as has Sly & Robbie.

Their innovative playing style, studio experimentation, and pure production genius has propelled music to a whole new level, and their influence remains undiminished both in their homeland of Jamaica and abroad. In fact, it's virtually impossible to imagine modern music without them.

The breadth of Sly & Robbies' accomplishments on both sides of the recording desk, all fired by their own unmistakable rhythms, is astounding. And it's this very distinct nature of their watertight rhythms that skyrocketed the Taxi Gang duo to superstardom.

The singer Michael Rose, originator of the Waterhouse sound and a huge draw card on world-wide reggae circuit in his own right, is perhaps best known to music fans as the main vocalist, songwriter and frontman for Black Uhuru during the groups strongest, most powerful & militant years (1979-1984), as a clutch of albums for Chris Blackwells' Island Records (Sinsemilla, Red, Anthem, Tear It Up and Chill Out) skyrocketed the group to international stardom.

The Riddim Twins were already heroes at home in JA, but it was the duo's work with Michael Rose and Black Uhuru in the late '70s and early '80s that brought them to international acclaim. Filling the void left by the absence of Bob Marley in the second wave of reggae to go outernational, Black Uhuru amade the most coherent body of work to come out of Jamaica until this day.

Considered by many to be the most sophisticated rhythm section in the world, Sly & Robbie are finally coming to dinner - these shows are their debut Australasian performances in over 3 decades of music making. Add Michael Rose to the menu and the message to ticket buyers is clear - act fast - when you think about it, who wouldn't want a seat at the musical banquet of the year?
