Soliton
- Sat 26 Apr 2003, 9:00pm @ Regent Theatre, Auckland
Prepare to feel inspired! 31 artists presenting 6 hours of nonstop [[multimedia]]
The focus of Soliton is to facilitate artists to produce work that wouldn't otherwise be shown. While there are 'dance music-style' acts in the programme, this is not the primary focus, what we have achieved is a dynamic balance across the artforms.
There will be moments when the audience will feel compelled to be attentive and watch a short film, or performance piece and moments of pure listening pleasure.
Kicking off the evening will be a rare performance by Mike Hodgson as Misled Convoy, an aside from his work with Paddy Free as [[Pitch Black]]. Kolab, a collaboration between Tom Bailey and Simon Redfern, furtherinteresting fusion of styles.
Another highlight will be marzuk.improv.nz where live musicians will be animated by audience participation. Artists such as Sola Rosa, SJD and MoodUnit (Angus McNaughton)who have promised us some fresh new upbeat sounds.
There will be some gorgeous short film from Lisa Reihana and Shona McCullagh, contemporary dance, performance and much, much more, but that would be a long novel...
