Bamboo Promotions proudly presents direct from London for his first New Zealand appearance - Steve Bicknell. Steve has established a reputation as one of UK's premier techno DJs, playing across Europe, Japan, Ibiza, Australia and North America. Based in London, Steve has been an intergral part of the UK techno community- as a dj, promotor and musician.

In the early ‘90s Steve started a series of events called ‘Lost', quickly establishing itself as the UK's foremost underground dance event. Revered globally as one of the world's most consistent, forward-thinking and innovative parties, Lost has defined and motivated a new generation of clubbers, dj's, artists and producers.

Lost has introduced the UK to some of the world's greatest house, electronic and techno exponents bringing the likes of Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Fumiya Tanaka, Claude Young, DJ Rolando, Richie Hawtin, Basic Channel (Live), Robert Hood, Luke Slater, and a host of global visionaries to the UK.

Steve's productions on his own label Cosmic Records, alongisde releases on Reload, Novamute, Perfecto, are highly sought after, while his ‘Clubtracks' and ‘Lost Recordings' series are still the blueprint for the sound of UK techno, spanning elements of African tribalism, with points of reference in Detroit, Chicago, Europe and beyond.

Steve's use of 3 Technics turntables, effects and a CD mixer enables him to play unreleased tracks, produced exclusively for the dancefloor, alongside the freshest cuts from the London underground.

From musique concrete and batacuda to Kraftwerk and James Brown, the music Steve plays is a unique blend of tribal funk and sonic grooves.
