Tama Waipara, Dirty Laundry Set with host MC Jeremy Taylor
Fresh from an eight-year stint in New York City, singer/songwriter Tama Waipara makes a special appearance at Matterhorn as part of the Dirty Laundry series.
A graduate of the prestigious Manhattan School of Music with a Master’s degree in music performance, Waipara will deliver an acoustic set featuring tracks from his soulful and gutsy breakthrough EP, Leaving Paradise.
The six-track EP was recorded in Brooklyn's Bunker Studio's with fellow Kiwi, Aaron Nevezie and features collaborations with New Zealand artists Nathan Haines and Godfrey De Grut (Elemeno P) and J Record's newest discovery Emily King.
Tama describes Leaving Paradise as having the "dirt and edge of Brooklyn, and the heart of a Coastie ".
Since returning to New Zealand in late 2006 Tama has been touring and recording with Nathan Haines as well as performing his own sell-out show at the Auckland Festival, AK07.
