THE MIXOLOGISTS

Linking up in 1997 it was only a couple of years before the Mixologists, were crowned UK Team champs. Going on to successfully make a name for themselves by dominating the battlegrounds of the international ITF and DMC team DJ competitions between 1999 and 2001.

Although from different musical backgrounds (Beni was part of the early rave & jungle scene whilst Go had strong hip hop roots) the two have fused and taken their innovative and eclectic DJ style worldwide to over 20 countries, having played across the UK, throughout Europe as well as Japan, Australia, New Zealand, S.Africa, Canada and USA. Holding down their weekly Spit Kingdom residency every Tuesday night at Herbal in London as well as various other residencies throughout Europe. They have worked/performed with artists such as: Roy Ayres, DJ Craze, Jazzy Jeff, Rodney P & Skitz, Kool Herc, Roots Manuva, London Elektricity, Killa Kela (who together with the Mixologists make up Spitkingdom Sound System), Masta Ace and Mark B & Blade. In July 2003 saw their first compilation album released called Champion Sounds under DMC's label, which subsequently won an award for best compilation at the Underground Music Awards and subsequently they went on to win in Best DJ category at the 2004 UMA awards.

In 6 years of battling the Mixologists have already done more than most, but it is in clubs where they really shine and are set to continue to entertain crowds all over the world with the option of hip hop sets, drum & bass sets or both. 2005 will be an even bigger year with their own production, touring and many other projects currently in the pipeline.
