Very strong contenders for the title Producers of 2000, Q-Project and Spinback aka Total Science provided many of the highlights of the last year with releases on practically every high profile Drum and Bass label. Their Album 'Advance' released mid-2000 contained the anthem of the year, the monstrous 'Champion Sound RMX'. Now in 2001 they bring their sound down under after extensive tours of the UK and the US. The tour is to support the release of their next album 'Tuned In' due for release in May.

ARTIST HISTORY

Jason and Paul met in 1988 through their mutual love of Electro and Hip-Hop. They started to experiment with the studio in 1990, making break-beat Techno fusion's. During this time Paul was already DJ-ing and widely known as "SPINBACK".

By mid 1992 Jason recorded his first EP "The Freestyle Fanatic" under the name of "Q.PROJECT". In 1993 Jason recorded the much-acclaimed "Champion Sound". This track went on to be a classic.

Jason and his friend Gwange set up a label called "Legend". This label saw over 20 releases from Jason and Paul.

At the end of 1994 Jason and Paul had joined forces under the name "THE FUNKY TECHNITIONS". In 1995 Gwenge left the label to pursue another career so Jason and Paul started a fresh label to release their own distinctive musical style " C.I.A" - Computer Integrated Audio.

Some of their influences are - Marley Marl, Derrick May, Kenny Larkin, Goldie, Dave Angel, Tim Westwood, Massive Attack and James Brown.

Jason and Paul's legion of twelve's are endless, with releases on C.I.A, Legends, Timeless, Good Looking, Moving Shadow, Creative Source, Metalheadz, Prototype, Hardleaders, Partisan, Reinforced and Trouble On Vinyl to name a few.

Remixes and compilations on some of the above labels. 2001 sees their first projects for Playstation.

July 2000 saw their first album "ADVANCED". May 2001 will see the release of their second album 'TUNED - IN"
