the "yardwise" phenomenon coming to you fresh !

We've locked down wellington's freshest new underground jazz and experimental music club as our unofficial HQ. With the ruffneck team doing the same thing, "Happy" (crn Tory & Vivian St) is getting a name for itself as a haven of true junglism.

Yardwise

"yardwise" follows in the tradition of the "righteous riddims" and "break fluid" events (past dancehall and jungle sessions since the beginning of the millenium), both of which Art and Spin Zero were the originators.

"yardwise" fully organised and promoted by the yardwise crew. We are by no means exclusive and are fully supportive of other crews and selektas/vocalists that play with us or elsewhere.

"yardwise" ethic? to provide the sound of true underground junglism, contempory and classic jamaican and jamaican-influenced sound, at an affordable cost, no sellout intentions and strictly music oriented. All to a crowd that only wants to hear the best.

Residency within "yardwise" consists of:

Topknot
Local roots afficianado and heavyweight organiser
of many sound systems, carnivals, national-touring
festivals, radio dj

Misteek
Long-time collector of all music jamaican, and regular
feature of many reggae festivals nationwide, radio dj

Art
Top hiphop roots and dancehall selekta, well known in
the clubs of welly and aucks, radio dj

Spin Zero
Junglist, dancehall-ite, composer/producer, radio dj

Special Guest - DJ de la haye

Triumphant returns are always the best, and Ex-Pat DJ De La Haye is no exception. Originally from Wellington, but based in Brisbane the last few years, De La Haye is currently on tour in New Zealand holding down the fierce old-school ragga jungle sound. Favouring Old-School producers such as Remarc, Congo Natty, Krome and Time etc De La Haye also comes armed with a no holds barred selection of New Zealand Ragga Jungle Plates from the camp Ruffneck Souljah Recordings (Wellington/Christchurch Jungle).

[[De La Haye]], her real name Kim, has been invloved in the organisation of many regular DnB/Jungle nights in Brisbane, and recently pulled a major coup de grace with her first 'Junglettes' night, an all female DnB/Jungle night that put the guys monthly 'RudeBwoyz' to shame...

Kim is playing on the 14th of Feb @ Happy with The Yardwise Crew, inna
Reggae,Dancehall, Jungle style mashup gig, and is currently involved in the organisation of the Ruffneck Souljah Recordings 2004 Takeover Step Australian Tour, as Taktik, Gunshot and MR T prepare to take the New Zealand Ragga Jungle Sound to the world...

Selector De La Haye, People u have been warned....
