The Reggae B'day Party of the Year - Yardwise - with very special guests - Dubwize

Don't miss the Reggae Birthday Party of the year - FRIDAY 9 NOVEMBER @ CURVE BAR (EDWARD ST PRECINCT) - when Wellington's number one champion sound - YARDWISE - turns four! In celebration they'll be bringing only the heaviest Reggae, Roots & Dancehall to mash-up the dance with very special guests, New Zealand's premier original Reggae sound - DUBWIZE (CHCH).

DUBWIZE formed in 2000 and consist of producer and selector - MESSENJAH - and vocalist - SNYPA LEVI. In November 2002 they released their first album, the N.Z. classic - TO THE CONTROL TOWER - and twelve months later followed up with the definitive - REALITY CHANT. Dubwize work with some of New Zealand's hottest Reggae Ragga vocalists including IYAH FARI (ZIMBABWE), TUFF ENCHANT and RAGGADON (UK). They have toured around the country at events such as KAIKOURA ROOTS, SOUNDSPLASH, ALPINE UNITY and PARIHAKA and have played alongside the likes of LEE PERRY, THE MAD PROFESSOR, DUB SYNDICATE and TRINITY ROOTS. They are currently working on a new album, due for release at the end of 2007, out on their own label EBONY ROOTS MUSIC. Alongside homecrew - YARDWISE - ART OFFICIAL, MISTEEK, ANTOINE, THE MIGHTY ASTERIX & MC KTHRNAK. Yardwise formed in 2003 on a musical mission to spread further their selection of conscious, uplifting tunes and vibes. Having established and run the foremost Reggae Dancehall nights in the Capital - the infamous INNA YARDWISE SESSIONS - they have collaborated with some of country's best artists including RUFFNECK SOULJAH, VITAL SOUNDS, SOUNDS ALMIGHTY (WGTN), JUGGLIN CREW, CHAMPION SOUNDS (AKLD), and have represented at events such as KAIKOURA ROOTS, JAH MASON and SOUNDSPLASH. They bring only the ruffest and tuffest in classic and contemporary Roots Reggae, Dancehall and Bashment direct to the people! Join them as they celebrate four years of bringing pure niceness and unity in the dance!
With special guest selector - STICKY FINGAZ. Originally from Christchurch and now residing in Welly, this selector is the founder of the DollaMix HipHop show 98.5RDU, teacher of turntablism and promoter extraordinaire - Sticky lays down the crucial Reggae, HipHop, Dub & Dancehall selections each and every time!
