What are the Police doing?

When is the govt going to clamp down of those that spread this evil, how
many more need to suffer ...

16 May 2001

I was horrified on the weekend to see yet another young vibrabant Kiwi youth cut down in his prime by the effects of an evil activity that should be stopped before it hurts any more of our country's young adults and families.

When is the govt going to clamp down of those that spread this evil, how many more need to suffer ...

What are the police doing, what are the authorities doing?

It is generally the ambulance staff that have to deal with harsh impact of this activity.

Yet who takes responsibilty, the clubs don't, they just allow it to go on.

It's too hard to police all the venues. And sure you have fun for 90 mins, but anything could happen in this time.

Quite often the parent don't know that thier children are involved in this activity.

Even though they are playing with mates, few of them understand the horror that must go through the parents minds if they get that phone call.

This Saturday the effects of this deadly past time hit close to home. I was leaving the house and looked down the street and there it was.

In the middle of Kilbirnie park a small huddle of people standing round a still lifeless body.

The ambulance had just pulled up to the curb. A stretcher was carried out onto the field.

No one was playing anymore.

When will people realise that if you play Rugby you are play Russian Roulette! : )

PS. What about this ad on TV that says that Second Hand smoke kills 400 people a years That's over one a day, and where are the HERALD HEADLINES!!!!
