went to Kyoto today, very long drive to arrive, as per
usual..
SO beautiful. i gasped my breath hard
trees are turning now, canopies of red and
pink/orange, raining leaves in small flurries
like tears or snow.
Kinkakuji is a temple built in the 12th century by
Yoshimitsu, covered in gold leaf; i just about fell
over at the sight of it across a lake(or large pond
is probably more accurate but not so poetic)
Took 27 photos.
Yoichi went back to Yokohama tonight/ had such a nice
night at Claude Young on Monday with he and Masato.
Driving back in early light, trains clinging with
caterpillarlegs to thin balustrades overhead. In a
lot,a row of ten sleeping shinkansen noses was an
awesome sight, but slipped past too quick for a shot.
highway:metal barriers curling in like old orange peel
or driving down the belly of an eel/innerscales
shining like Wipeout when you ride a crest.
Wanted to buy eelbone snacks as a freaky memento for
Ben today but thought they might not make it through
customs.. ate barbecued eellivers on a stick and a
yummy kind of herby eel broth. Eel is one of my great
Japanese discoverys. Eel where have you been all my
life.
ok so i better go
