let down . with the exception of some interest

it all started this time . on a 'tuesday night

appearing on the mo'width show on RDU with pal
and owner of Sputnik cafe . I spun house tunes
into the early hours of mid week ..

at this point confidence was 'high . and there
was a sense of hope in the air . for events ..

wed. night was spent late on the street with a
bucket . posters and a video camera .. at this
I begun to realize the state of affairs in xch

apart from a few punk bands . political freaks
and some 'yogi with a new spiritual path . I'm
one of a few to paste my own posters .not that
pasting your own posters makes you special ..

but . the street here(everywhere)is accustomed
to the 'normal means of advertising .and items
not on the 'normal bollard are not to be seen!

.. still unaware

friday . day of the party .!. the tour stopped
off @ Hunters n Collectors 'such an experience
to play on a clothing rack for leather jackets

.chatting to customers about how 'yes' records
are still made today . and 'no' it doesn't rek
the stylus if I spin the record backwards .but
I can understand how it would not work on your
dads turntable ...

.. then through the tunnel

to . Lyttelton .such a placid town `so idelic

setting up in one hour . because the old kids
had used the venue for an early party . . gee

decks and with the simple effect of a wall of
mirror balls . filling the room with headspin
dots . colours . and headspins . more of mats
and tapa cloth . but broken video projector .

with Chris Cox on the mix .hustling me for my
naked music tracks . slowdaze disco house and
headspins from mirror balls . I begun to feel
the obvious fear of an empty room . . king al
later .. and the numbers had doubled to . two

.. the fear was real

on the encouraging side there was no lack of
room to move .. so in the presence of 'some'
wonderful and supportive friends .all nine !
I played my melonchly tunes .and said bye to
the empty Harbour Light ...

. still with the fianl step of the chch tour
to complete at novak clothing store . . !!

a pleasent day . spent in utter self misery .

.. so

not what I expected . but I got to do what I
wanted to .which was play tunes to frineds !

and in unlikely situations . like shops .. .

hmmm ..

so enough to stand on . but not much
more .. so see you in nelson for !!
