I'd gotten up early because the queues for tickets have been miles long all week. In the end though I was in line for about a minute before I brought a tickets for face value off a scalper desparate to move them.
Olympic Park itself was so well organised. Wicked signage, people telling the crowds which go to to get where. Free trains to and from the site, zero hassels. Police playing tight but nice security. There must have been a half a million people there. I think the largest stadium holds 110,000. And there were three close to that size, plus many smaller ones like the State Sports Centre where the TDK was held.
A lot of the fighting consisted of the contestants trying to flinch each other - the ref kept stopping them, telling them to get on with the fight. A couple of times almost a whole 3 minute round (there are 3 per fight) went by without a single blow, but when they get it on, they get it on!
