2009 RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE
New Zealand’s Annual Drum and Bass DJ Competition
Entries for the 2009 Jansen Rumble in the Jungle are now open!
Rumble in the Jungle is a Drum and Bass DJ competition for New Zealanders, showcasing superb mixing talent amongst both established and bedroom DJ’s alike.
Now 8 years deep in the NZ dance music scene, Rumble in the Jungle is set to excite crowds and give up and coming DJs the exposure they deserve once again.
Last year’s winner, Import, finally took top spot after entering 6 previous competitions and has since gone on to release a mix CD with Empathy recordings and supporting international DJs around the country.
There are three stages to find the 2009 Rumble in the Jungle champion. First off is the entry stage, where DJs from around the country send in mix CDs, which are assessed by judges to select the top 10 DJs from each region.
These DJs then head to their regional event to compete against each other live, often playing for the first time outside their bedroom.
At the national final, the 8 DJs from around the country converge to compete against each other in another three round showdown.
The process at the final is the same as the regional event, but the stakes are much higher, with a chance to not only win a large amount of prizes, but also to receive the glory that comes with winning the Rumble in the Jungle title.
The event is unique and offers a good time to both the DJs and the crowds alike - don't miss out on your chance to be part of the 2009 competition.
Hurry as entries close on the 31st of July!
