It is with the greatest regret that I inform you that on the 16th July 'The Gathering Company Ltd' was placed into voluntary liquidation due to its inability to trade as it is unable to pay it's creditors.

To all concerned

It is with the greatest regret that I inform you that on the 16th July 'The Gathering Company Ltd' was placed into voluntary liquidation due to its inability to trade as it is unable to pay it's creditors.

I wish to take this opportunity to thank all the gatherers, crew, service providers, friends & family that have supported the gathering throughout its six years of staging safe, high quality events.

The gathering has proved to be a catalyst for change in our community & a vehicle for self-expression & group understanding.

Simon said it best when he said...

The Gathering did not come out of a box, so it will never fit into a box. However from the perspective of the crew, the people who attend and the history of the Gathering so far, it could be said this way.

.. it is a dream
.. it is an idea
.. it is knowledge

The Gathering is a dream, it is a dream of hope. It is the dream that our differences can bring us together instead of pushing us apart. It is the dream we can exist without violence or hate. It is the dream that there is a place in our lives where moments can be perfect.

The Gathering is an idea, it is the idea that you can achieve your dreams. It is the idea that dreams are worth indulging in. It is the idea that we do have similar dreams.

The Gathering is knowledge, it is knowledge that all these things can exist. It is the knowledge that we have achieved our dreams and ideas are real.

The Gathering is a place where we all meet, it is a place we have the room to stand on our own feet and have our own fun for a while. Just because we can!

The Gathering was never one person or group of people it was all of us...'we create the gathering' & it is my fervent hope that the gathering will live on in our hearts & minds... all the good memories... all the bad... & all those moments of pure bliss where we thought... 'yeah, this is all worth it'

I apologize to all the people who The Gathering owes money to, it was always my intention to pay back these debts, I wish I could have.

To all the crew who worked their hearts out for little reward, I can never thank you enough especially for sticking with me through the hard, hard times... I will be forever in your debt.
