If you have danced on a south island dancefloor in the last ten years, then you will have danced under Mike Smith's lighting genius.

Today we put Mike's body to rest after his tragic and untimely death.

This is the first time for many of us, and it is the hardest thing we will ever have to do.

However deep within this experience is a profound joy at knowing such an amazing person.

Mike Smiths dedication, commitment and passion for his life, his family, his friends and community where awesome.

His creative vision illuminated our best dancefloors, and his strength brought together people to achieve their dreams.
