Not only will it be the biggest party of the year, it will be a celebration of festivity, funk, frivolity and fun. Radio Active is providing a party to remember, not just another night on the town. The Radio Active 21st Birthday Party is set to be one of the largest of 1998, and with Radio Active's background in the best of all music styles, there will be something there for ALL party goers. Whether it be reggae, rock, hip hop or dance you like, whether you just wanna hang out with famous people and swing to jazz, soul or lounge music, the Radio Active 21st birthday party will have something for everyone. There will be 11 live acts scheduled for the party, as well as a show case of local DJs who play weekly on the station. The party is a celebration of innovation, music and mostly a salute to all those who have participated in Wellington's forward thinking radio station. Over the 21 years, Radio Active has showcased a lot of it's own talent, a lot of whom have moved on to be even brighter stars, people such as Jackie Clarke and John Campbell and Maggie Barry not to mention the numerous local bands and Djs we have hosted on their way to the top. Not only will Radio Active provide Wellington with a massive party, but we are preparing to showcase Wellington's most promising artists in the form of a FREE CD. The first 1000 people to buy tickets will receive a free collectors edition 21st Anniversary CD featuring 12 of Wellington's most promising acts. The CD contains local artists such as Fur Patrol, Letterbox Lambs, The Hasselhoff Experiment, King Kapisi, Jet Jaguar, Aspen, 50HZ and the debut track from DJ MU, to name a few.
