Prepare your ears for electronic ecstasy... Join Soft during the 1998 Fringe Festival for a season of sensory stimulation. Soft in association with Radio Active and Creative New Zealand presents Une Petite Electronique, a series of live experimental electronic concerts during the Fringe Festival feb-March 1998. Une Petite Electronique is a lounging affair hosted in ESC's Kinetic Lounge, not only does Une Petite Electronique promise to shower its listeners in the most cutting edge electronic music in New Zealand, but Soft will provide an environment that is stylish and different from any other electronic music event you have encountered. Beware: This is not a dance party... Une Petite Electronique's focus is to move away from the dancefloor, to focus more on the performance of the music and thrill your senses with the ground breaking noises that are currently going un-noticed. The performers in Une Petite Electronique are a vast bunch of aural genii, with a collective twenty years of twiddling nobs, they are dedicated electronicans with a thirst for something different. During this four night season you will be able to enjoy the sonic research of local Wellingtonians Aspen, Jet Jaguar, Vee, Cyrus and Mu, joined from Auckland by two innovative performers and composers Short Fuse and Trigger X. There will also be live video installation from local film maker Robyn Venables. Don't miss this sequence of local flavour, 75 percent of these nights will be live and original, from techno, drum and bass, slowbeat, dub and super funky funk every night will cover a new territory in dance music, you never know you could hear the next big thing in right here on a local stage. Presales for this event are strictly limited, there will be only 50 Presales for each night as our capacity is an intimate 100. Presales are available from local dance music outlets Troubadour and Flipside and The Fringe Festival ticketing office.
