This was Wellington's first introduction to underground dance music. From this introduction, Andy alongside keen partners in crime, Dave Wright (dJ Quamay) and Reece (lost knowledge) began spinning the wheels of steel any where they could, whether it be an after-hours hijacking of Wgtn's stundent radio station - Radio Active at 3am, or parties of there own in any abandoned wharehouse.
This lead on to Andy promoting various events indoor and outdoor from 1995 thru to 2000 at venues such as Shed 6 on the Wellington waterfront and any unused warehouse space that could find.
Thru this promoting and early djing, Andy promoted many mad underground events with the likes of Japan's lord of the energy - Yogi Biomenhenika and countless other djs from all over the world.
From 1999 to 2003, Andy worked for Wellington's largest club/venue Phoenix, as resident dj and also handling all inhouse promotions which included promoting and djing alongside such dj/acts as Mrs Wood, Mark Tyler, Transa, Mark Dynamix, K90, Dave Randell, Steve Hill, Taylor, Daniel Ro, Bexta, Ian M, Nick Sentience, Andy Farley, Tom Middleton, Derick May, Lab 4, Steve Blake, The Space Brothers and many more.
1999 was also the year Andyb along with fellow close friends decided to start Firm 107Fm, Wellington's newest addtion in radio and it's first underground dance music station.
Since it's birth nearly 5 years ago it has become Wellington's most popular dance music radio station. Firm has been providing fine underground delicacies over the air for almost five years and is a firm fixture in the developement of Wellington's dance scene. www.firmfm.co.nz
