An exciting new range of urban street wear has hit Napier with a vengeance.

That's thanks to MOVEMENT - a fresh new concept store which recently opened in Civic Court, and a full range of urban trendy clothing and party accessories are now available.

Behind the concept, owners Bevan Stephenson, Sandra Cave and Lorree Wilson are working to bring a new culture of clothing to Hawke's Bay, whilst also creating a valuable and much needed hub for entertainment and information.

People are welcome to visit the store to pick up fliers and check out what happening on the store's gig guide.

Primarily providing information about local events in Hawke's Bay, details about up and coming events in Auckland and Wellington will be available as well, as the team at MOVEMENT are well aware that many people head there for weekends too.

"At the moment a lot of people from Hawke's Bay travel to Auckland or Wellington seeking funky urban street wear clothing. We discovered a niche in the market which is why we're now bringing this concept to the region. We're trying to establish MOVEMENT as an underground culture, with potential to increase the commercial side of business later on down the track. We aim to push forward youth and urban culture in Napier and across the Hawke's Bay area," Bevan said.

Urban street wear labels including Illicit, Misery Boutique, Rota Gear and Rota Babe are on offer at MOVEMENT. Illicit and Misery labels use designs created by tattoo and artist imagery to clothing prints. Misery is currently the most recognised label - it is well established in the clothing outlets of the bigger New Zealand cities and is now well received on the international scene. MOVEMENT is open seven days a week from 10am until 5pm, so for the latest in urban street wear and party gear head to the new concept store in Civic Court, Dickens Street, Napier.
