Subtronix Promotions was formed in 1995, and is run by Dave Roper and Geoff Wright ().
The aim of Subtronix was, and is to provide New Zealand with a constant high standard of Drum and Bass events by bringing to our shores the best DJ/producer talent the world has to offer.
Another aim of Subtronix is to nurture and promote the local DJ's that they believe set the standards in this country.
Subtronix also set up the label "Subtronix Recordings" to export New Zealand produced drum and bass to the world through its global network and distribution deals, and in effect for the label to become a symbol of good music worldwide.
Since its inception it has gone on to become a global entity releasing tunes from the brightest young producers worldwide.
Subtronix is well known and well respected amongst the most powerful and influential figures in worldwide drum and bass, and New Zealand is now recognised as one of the most advanced Drum and Bass scene's in the world with the top UK DJ's naming it as one of their all time favourite spots to play.
Subtronix is without a doubt the strongest and most enduring name in the promotion of underground dance music in New Zealand.
