yes its been 10 years since i found myself sneakin with my dad and bro to an outdoor rave in the outskirts of christchurch. i remember just standing there thinkin ooh jolly good crazy yes. and progression then took its course destined for a rolling trail of raving, mixing, listening, and expressing.
i pay homage to all the original chch pioneers i.e. OB1(slipmat), Pylon, Kinesis, Stealth, Lush, King al, Freq, Reuben, Lotus, Flux, and Puzzle, for there innovation of musical delivery and unified party promotion built foundation for my movements and thoughts.
after watching these katz kickin for about 2 years i got some decks and tinkered away with my bro (Ra the Rukus) and then thanks to Steve of "destination" (cave stream festival) i played my first set at age 12.
the memory of that bright sunny morning still resonates postively in my head along with the following big and small dj outings. there was gatherings, destinations, soulstices, club lovelys, x-plosions, and overdrives. to name a few
yip its like that and theres oh so much more but i feel im justing flipping the lid so i will split instead and leave with this escape sentence:
it can feel sad with the scene i knew down the drain, its hard to feel the same but to wollow over something that to many is nothing would not be wiked. so willy watches his 15 crates of wax, and still goes crazy for the drops and the breaks of all the good bizz, never falling but forever rising and holding on to that unity that was once experienced.
