Oblique toured the north island in November 1996 and have gigged extensively in Wellington playing Eden, Noise Control and Roots Foundation parties. Highlights included supporting Thomas Heckman (alias Drax), playing at Eden's 'Gate 2', and playing in the Wellington Town Hall at 'Omnivore', the opening of the 1997 Fringe Festival. During this time I also played at several events as 'Aspen' airing more groove orientated electronic.

In 1997 I co-organised and played in the successful Electro-Forum series at Bar Bodega which ran every Tuesday in November.

In 1998 I played for three hours as Aspen at Une Petit Electronique, at Matterhorn cafe/bar, Aspen also rocked John Pell's Fringe Closing party Rewind. Also planned for this year is another series of 'electro forum', Omnivore 2 @Wellington Town Hall and of course, an album release party at a secret venue.

Multi layered dance floor grooves. Pop electronica. Denser soundscapes.

Elephant Records.

Aspen 'album' will be the second release for Elephant Records which I have created with Mathew Mitchell (Extrapolation) and Shanan Holm. The live recording of jazz ensemble Extrapolation will be the first release. Elephant records will be focused on modern jazz, composition and also release electronica through Elephant Electronics.

Elephant Electronic is set for another release this year featuring New Zealand's finest electronic artists in a laid-back dance-floor influenced compilation. Next year at least 3 more releases are planned including a second, more focused Aspen album and another layered compilation.
