Has anyone ever noticed how you can listen to dance music in a club but you can't listen to club music at a dance party.

What happened to dance parties, they used to rock all the time. There is a strong chance that I am off the loop, but club nights are the flavor nowadays.

So who has checked out twisted ' ?? They recently had their third birthday, which does imply that there is a lot of popularity involved with this event .. I'm not a local to Wellington, but any crew that can bring it back again and again certainly has a commitment worth checking out.

Speaking of again and again . Bass Frontiers are keeping up the good work and providing yet another Dn'B international very shortly. Around here though' we know that BF were originally a party crew, being one of the first providing full spectrum parties featuring all styles of music. Back then throwing a party meant finding your own warehouse and fitting it out with everything you needed.

This was fun but a lot of hard work, and very touch and go most of the time. The arrival of clubs who fostered relationships with promoters enabled the scene to grow in a way that was never before possible in warehouses. It is the constant of Clubs that has allowed the music to consolidate itself, to build foundations and grow.

On the note of foundations have you read about Trillion. Back but never really gone, Trillion under the guise of Dark Tower was writing, performing and releasing NZ hip hop long before most of us knew (circa 94). If you are in ChCh hang around the C1 studio and you might just run into him starting his new music project.

With that Rihan Sheehan has managed to release his latest project with much acclaim. The kids in the TVNZ news room obviously like him, and his tunes certainly make the weather better.

Now would you play Rihan tracks in a club or a dance party ? ?
